CLaSH Trust

The Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia (CLaSH) was inaugurated in December 1989 and closed down as an active service provider at the end of 2021.

All remaining assets of the organisation have been transferred to the CLaSH Trust that had been registered with the Master of the High Court Windhoek in October 2019 under the number T260/2019.

Most of the previous CLaSH Board Members as well as the former CLaSH Director have agreed to serve as Trustees for the CLaSH Trust, namely

The main objective of the Trust is to facilitate or support the specialised education for children with language, speech and hearing impairments in pre-school, primary, secondary (and in exceptional circumstances tertiary) education, with an emphasis on children from birth to six years of age.

The Trust will:

  • encourage and support the provision of specific assistance of any kind to the Beneficiaries of the Trust
  • promote efforts for the early identification, early intervention and early education of Beneficiaries
  • maintain the good name and legacy of “The Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia” following its dissolution
  • support the educational services, programmes and projects originally initiated by “The Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia”, in particular the Early Intervention Centre that has been handed over to the Windhoek School for the Hearing Impaired
  • encourage, support and monitor innovative programmes and initiatives for the benefit of the Beneficiaries
